What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you think of “SOLAR”? Well, if you are a true VIP then you know what I am talking about. YES, you are right! He is our one and only Mr. Dong Young Bae and known as Taeyang on stage.

Who is Taeyang in real life? Actually, he was the “shy type” amongst BIG BANG. Furthermore, there was a time that he was hiding his true feelings towards his dream on becoming a famous singer and dancer from his parents because they might not approve on it just like other parents do. He kept doing these things and in that he became one of the famous boys in Korea, a member of BIG BANG. Taeyang means “SUN” in Korean language so I think that’s where SOLAR came from.

Moreover, Taeyang released his first solo album “SOLAR” online internationally and it became a BIG hit. It became no.2 in U.S in iTunes and no.1 in Canada. He is the first Asian artist that made this achievement. He can’t believe that fans want to buy his album from anywhere in the world. Besides, he said that he didn’t do any promotions in North America and he only targeted Korean and Japanese fans.

On the 25^th of August 2010, SOLAR International Album was released which is the extended album of his first one with some English versions for his international fans. Again, it was a BIG HIT. It reached no.3 in Japan, no.5 in Canada, no.11 in United States, and no.15 in Australia in iTunes R&B album chart. And according to YG Entertainment, it is the first South Korean Album that has been promoted internationally and online through social media groups.

As of now, Taeyang is very busy for his upcoming first solo concert on Sept. 25&26 of the year 2010. In addition to that, it will be streamed live on YouTube. And, I can tell that fans will surely wait for these days to come to watch it live on YouTube especially the international fans. Well, here it is! I can feell the blood rushing through my veins when I first knew this news. I am so excited to see this enthusiastic event.

To become one of the famous singer and dancer is what Taeyang dreamt of and it is now happening. He won’t stop until he met his stage the whole world.
